Jubilee Fireworks (Scotland)
Here we have a very busy and informative multi-media website that we rebuilt for Jubilee Fireworks (Scotland) following the re-opening of venues after the Covid Pandemic.
The site it was replacing was a bit drab (built over 10 years ago using html) so our brief was to modernise the site but keep all the existing information and add some videos.
We drafted up some layouts and looked at different menu options as we knew navigation was going to be a bit of a nightmare given the amount of content that the site was going to hold. We also looked at how the videos were going to be displayed as we didn’t want to slow down the the page loads by hosting all the media on the sites servers.
We opted to “embed” the videos and began working on editing the clips that we had been provided with and uploading them to Jubilee Scotland’s vimeo account.
Our graphic designers started working on the header, which proved to be a bit of a problem as the main company (Jubilee Fireworks) had recently changed its logo and the guys at Jubilee Scotland were a bit concerned that returning customers might not recognise the site with its new makeover and an unfamiliar logo. It was decided to go with the old logo on the front page to give the site instant recognition, but use the new logo elsewhere on the site and replace the logo on the front page at a later date.
The contact us and about page are pretty much standard on all our websites, but on this one we added a sidebar and some advertising placeholders to help the site promote venues and other related businesses.
We added small Icons to the top and bottom of each page which allows visitors to visit Jubilee Fireworks social media pages, we also added “share” and “tweet” icons on the left of each page so that users can share the pages on social media.
